I'm alive!

And, I swear I didn't plan on taking a 2 week break, I promise...the baby told me to!  ;-)

Honestly though, these past 2 weeks I have just been absolutely exhausted every day when I get home from work.  Like, when I get home, I'm lucky enough to change out of my work clothes and into some comfy clothes before I plop my big butt either on the couch for the night, or in bed (and it's usually in bed where I end up.)  Aside from being exhausted, I've been getting some serious headaches lately, and the only thing that helps is for me to go to sleep.  So, at least 3 or 4 nights in the past 2 weeks I've had to come right home from work and go to bed for the night.  But, I'm not really complaining, I swear!  I love me some sleep (duh, you all know that!), and anything's better than having morning sickness 24/7, right?!  I've been pretty lucky in that department, thankfully!

So yeah, this is me every night by 6 or 7pm...

Anyways, to catch you all up...

Two weeks ago we had our first ultrasound.  I was 7 weeks 5 days pregnant at that point.  Everything went perfectly, and our little bean was actually even growing a day ahead of schedule, and had a good, strong heartbeat of 160bpm.  Hubs and I were thrilled!!

But, the next day things didn't go so smoothly.  I had an appointment at my doctor's office that day to fill out some paperwork, and I was about to leave work for the day to head to my appt.  I went to the ladies room before I left, and what do I see when I'm about to wipe?...blood in the toilet.  And, not just brown spotting-type blood, bright red new blood.  I almost threw up right there on the floor.  Of course, I completely freaked out and immediately thought the worst...I was miscarrying.

Long story short (b/c I could go on and on about how upset I was, and how frustrating my doctor's office was, and how no one called me back when they said they would, and how I will be switching doctors ASAP....are you seeing a pattern here??), I had blood-work done on Friday afternoon and again on Monday morning to see if my HCG levels were still doubling.  They didn't end up doubling (which I was told was normal this far along and when the numbers are this high), but they did go up.  So, I was finally scheduled for another ultrasound on Tuesday afternoon to make sure everything was OK.

Thank the Lord, everything turned out perfectly.  **HUGE sigh of relief**

So, without further adieu, here's our first picture of Baby B:

And another one of the picture upside down...you can make out the lil babe better.  :)

I cannot believe I'm going to be 10 weeks already tomorrow!  Where the heck has the time gone already?!  I haven't taken any belly pics since my first one, but I promise (I really do!) I'll take one tomorrow, b/c I definitely think I'm starting to get a little belly pooch.  But, I'll let you guys be the judge.  ;-)

So, my next task is to call the OB/Gyn that's been recommended to me and find a new Dr. there.  I'm thinking positively, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to find a new Dr., but we'll see.  I still have to call and make an appointment, but I'm honestly not even sure what to say.  Has anyone else ever switched Dr.'s before??  What do you say when you call the new place?  Do I actually have to talk to my old Dr's office and tell them?  I'm such a scaredy-cat...I never know what to say in situations like these!

I hope you all are doing well!  I've been keeping up on all of your blogs, and trying to comment as much as I can before I end up falling asleep on my laptop.  ;-)  I've missed talking to you all so much, though!!  xoxoxo

Find a doctor that your happy with my girlfriend sadly miscarried and her previous doctor was horrible during the process, she switched and searched out a few different ones before committing to one. Not sure if you have to say anything but do switch doctors if your not happy!

So glad that everything is okay!

Glad to see you're back and getting sleep! Lots of sleep is a good thing, help baby grow!!

If you don't like your doctors office you NEED to find a new one, you don't just deal with the doctor. The entire office is where you'l be so often over the next few months.

Erika if you need a Dr. recommendation, just shoot me a message, I cannot recommend my group highly enough! As far as switching Dr.'s just call the new one, explain your situation that you are looking for a new group and ask to set up an appt. if you decide to go with a new group, they will take care of getting your records.

So happy that everything with baby is ok! As for getting a new doctor, just call and tell them you are pregnant and need a new doctor and they will probably get you in pretty quickly. You have to be an advocate for yourself and the little bambino and not worry how your current doctor will feel. I wish I could recommend my doctor but I am unh.appy and going to change myself

So glad to hear baby B is okay! That would have been scary, I can't imagine what that must have felt like for you. And although I am not sure what happened with the Dr.... trust your gut and if you need to switch, then just switch and don't feel bad about it! Its YOUR decision and hey you have a long road ahead of you! Pick one that you can see delivering ALL your babies, not just the first :)

Glad everything is going great minus that scare you had!! I would definitely find a doctor you're comfortable with since you're going to be seeing them for quite sometime!
