Anywho, on Friday I had a girls night with some friends of mine. A bunch of us went out to dinner and then to the bar afterward. It was so much fun! The weather was great, too, so we went to one of the outside bars downtown here. I love going out during the summer and having drinks outside. It's so much better then being all bundled up and cold inside!
On Saturday I ended up sleeping in later then I should have. (Apparently I had too much fun on Friday night, especially since I thought it was a good idea to go to Wendy's at 2am. Ooops! Haha! But, it was deeeelish!) So, Saturday afternoon I just lounged around for a bit, had lunch at Olive Garden (Mmm, my fav!), and then went to Home Depot and Lowe's to get some shrubs and flowers for our yard. And I have to say, I think it was one of the first times I actually enjoyed going to those two stores! lol I'm usually SO bored walking around there with Hubs, I just want to poke my eyes out! But, this time I got to pick out all the pretty flowers and had the final say in everything. I'm so excited that our house is finally starting to look like a home! I mean, it's only been 4 1/2 years since we moved in...it's about time, right?! Doesn't our front yard look purty?!
I mean, we obviously have to actually plant the shrubs in the ground, and buy the brick and mulch to go around it, but at least it's a start! Yay! :o)
On Saturday night Hubs and I went out for dinner/drinks for one of my good friend's birthday. It was actually one of my 'wedding friend's' (and, just to clarify, my wedding friends are all my really good friends now...it's just easier to explain when each group of friends has name; wedding friends, work friends, blog friends. :oP ) birthday and a whole group of us, along with our hubbies/SO's, went out together. It was actually one of the first times that all the boys came out and met! Us girls have get-togethers and meet up all the time, but never with the guys. We all had a blast!! The food was SO good, and we went to a bar/lounge place afterward that was a lot of fun! I hope to go back there with the girls again sometime soon. :o)
Here's me and my ladies:
On Sunday, Hubs and his brother went to the new amateur jai-alai place that just opened up around here. They used to play in high school/college all the time, so they're pretty psyched that they get to play again. While they were gone, my SIL and I went for a long walk at the boardwalk/beach down the street from our houses...we only live a mile away from each other. It was the perfect day for a walk, and I definitely think we're going to do it more often! :o)
After everyone got home, we all went back to James' bro's house to watch the first part of LOST. I swear, if I had a dollar for all the times that I got teary-eyed watching the recap episode, and listening to all the actors tell their stories from six years of working on the show. Ohhhh man. Oh, and those little notes that they kept showing that the fans had written in...I was a mess! Haha!
I'm still not sure how I feel about the final episode, though. Of course they had to leave us kind of hanging, and with questions (as usual!) Are they all dead? Where they dead the whole time? Were they in purgatory? You couldn't of just wrapped it up nicely and given us a definitive answer to as why they were on that stupid island the whole time, could ya writers?! So, from what I've heard and read online, they all died at some point, and the whole 'sideways' life that was going on this whole season was just a way to get everyone back together to say goodbye? And the quote Jack said in the very first episode, 'live together or die alone', played a big part....that they all came back to live together in the after-life, since that was their happiest time together. Or something like that...
Anyways...I thought it was good, not great, but good. I'm definitely going to miss the show, and the characters (especially Jack and Sawyer! :::swoon::: ), but I'm glad I won't have to ask 3903842 questions after each episode, trying to figure out what the H just happened.
Speaking of shows I missed....did you ladies watch The Bachelorette last night?! I haven't watched it yet, but, I DRV'd it, and I can't wait to see what happened! It looks like it's going to be a good season, and even though Ali kind of annoyed me last season (I mean, seriously, how drawn out was her whole 'situation' and having to leave, and wah, wah, waaaah), I think it's going to be full of DRAMA...which I love, of course!
Alrighty then, I think I've rambled on enough. I hope you all are having a great week, so far!
