Top 2 Tuesday!

It's been waaay too long since I've done a T2T post!  I've definitely missed it.  But, I'm loving this week's topic, so I had to join in!
Make sure to link up at Taylor's blog to play along!  :)

1.  San Diego

It's absolutely GORGEOUS there.  The weather is perfect 99% of the time and there's so much to do....beautiful beaches and surfing, Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, shopping.  I could go on and on.  I move there in a heartbeat if we could!  And, it doesn't hurt that one of my best friends lives there, as well.

Here's some pics from when Hubs and I visited there for my friends wedding a few years ago:

Sea World...one of my favorite places ever

Sunset Cliffs

I love me some palm trees

Coronado....another one of my favortie places in SD

Beautiful sunset

2.  Orlando

My next choice is for obvious reasons, that I'll show you in pictures, of course!  ;-)

And, I could go on and on and ON about this city, as well....but, I'll spare you all of my obsession.  ;-)

Happy Tuesday!!

The best sound ever

I think I could listen to this all. day. long.

PS - Please ignore my horrible voice/comments....and, I tried to get Fozzie Bear in at the end, but he was being camera shy.  ;)

14 weeks! It's a lemon! And, I bought a doppler!

So many exciting things going on!  Seriously, where has the time gone?!  How am I 14 weeks and carrying a lemon already??  I mean, really.

Oh, and I'm super psyched because I finally convinced Hubs last night to let me buy a home doppler machine.  Woohooo!  And, it already shipped TODAY!  Yay for Amazon!  So, hopefully I'll get it sometime next week and be able to test that baby (No pun intended.  Ha.) out right away.  I can't wait.

I've been in a little pregnancy funk lately, and I need something to help me get through these next couple of weeks knowing that our little bean is A-OK in there.  I haven't had an ultrasound in a couple of weeks, and I don't have another appointment until the end of the month, and it's really freaking me out.  I don't feel pregnant (well, besides some big bewbies and still being a little tired...but that's getting better!), and I don't look pregnant...just chubby.  Now, don't get me wrong...I'm definitely not complaining that I have no symptoms, it's just really scary to have NO clue what's going on inside of me, and not knowing if everything's OK (a little kick/jab/twinge/anything right about now would be greeeeat.)  So, I'm hoping the doppler will ease my fears....and, for only $60, I think it's totally worth it.

Oooh, random thought...maybe I'll even take a little home video of me using the doppler so you can all hear the heartbeat!  Awwww.  I know...you're all so excited about that, right?!

Anways...other than that, nothing else too exciting going on here.  My SIL is having her baby in the next couple of weeks (she's due Sept. 19th), so we're all really looking forward to that!  And, our anatomy scan is scheduled for September 20th, so I'm counting down the days until that appointment.  4 weeks and 2 days to go!  :D

Here's what's going on with BB (Baby B...teehee) this week:

And, here's another fun diagram for your viewing pleasure:

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.

In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

How far along? 14 weeks today

Total weight gain:  No clue.  I guess I'll find out at my next appointment at the end of the month

Maternity clothes?  Not yet, but my pants definitely need to be unbuttoned by the end of the day, especially after eating.  I have the feeling I'll be buying some form of the Bella Band soon.

Stretch Marks?  No, not yet...thankfully

Sleep:  Still pretty good.  I've been waking up the past couple of nights with a sore neck/back, though.  I told Hubs the other night that I may need to invest in one of those Snoogles/pregnancy pillows SOON!

Best moment this week?  Buying a doppler and having it shipped within 24 hours!  I can't wait to try it out!

Movement?  Not yet.  :(

Food cravings: Nothing really.  Still loving fruit.

Labor signs?  Oh I hope not yet!

Belly button in or out?  Out

What I miss:  I've really been in the mood for a nice glass of wine lately...so I'll go with that.

What I'm looking forward to:  Getting the doppler in the mail!

Milestones:  I'm officially in the 2nd trimester...YAY!!

And, last but not least...here's my belly shot for this week.  Unfortunately, still not too much going on here.  :(  Soon enough, I hope!

Please excuse the disgusting-ness of myself.  As soon as I get home from work I put on comfy clothes and throw my hair up (Ha, don't let me fool you...I never bothered doing it in the first place!)  I'm a hot mess....but, at least I'm comfy.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!  :)

~*Weekend Update*~

Happy Monday, ladies!  (Well, it's only happy now that it's almost over, right??)  I hope you all had a great weekend.

My weekend was actually pretty boring, and very relaxing...which was perfect.  Hubs and I did a whole lotta nothing.  (Ok, well maybe it was just me that did a whole lotta nothing, but who's keeping track.  ;) )

On Friday afternoon we had our first trimester screening/NT scan, and everything looks perfect according to the ultrasound tech!  Phew!  I'm still waiting on the results of my blood-work that I had done that goes along with the NT scan, so *fingers crossed* that everything looks normal with those results, too. Unfortunately, we didn't get very good pictures though, so I don't have much to share in baby picture department this week.  Booo.  :(  But, our anatomy scan is in only 6 weeks....6 weeks!!...so I should definitely have more pictures then, AND either a Baby Boy B or a Baby Girl B.  I cannot wait!!  It really is going to be THE longest 6 weeks of my life.

After we got home from the ultrasound, Hubs made me some hot dogs and french fries....OMG were they the best hot dogs ever!  They were nitrate-free, all beef dogs from Trader Joes.  Mmm mmm mmm!  I haven't had a hot dog in over 3 months, and that is usually my absolute favorite thing to eat in the summer, so I was in heaven.  (Yep, over a hot dog.  :P )

On Saturday I woke up to find our living room carpet completely ripped up and the entire room rearranged.  Apparently Hubs had a little energy this morning.  I couldn't believe it!  It looks 39408 times better with hard-wood floors...I love it.  We rearranged all the furniture, too, so now we just have to get a nice area rug to go in the middle of the room.  I'm actually looking forward to decorating this room now, since the layout is much better than it was before.  We'll see how that goes, though, seeing as how I'm definitely NOT Martha Stewart, and I'm horrible at decorating.  Haha!  Wish me luck.  ;)

Saturday night we went to a friends house for a few hours, ate a bit and just hung out and talked.  It was actually pretty fun, even though 'old lady preggo' over here was falling asleep on their couch around 10:30pm.  I couldn't keep my eyes open!

Sunday was definitely a laaaaazy day.  I did nothing ALL day.  It was great.

And that is all.  Sorry for such a boring weekend update!  Next time I'll definitely take some pictures, or do something more fun, I promise.  ;)

I'm feeling all lovey-dovey today, actually, so here's a few pretty pictures for you pretty ladies.  :)

I have a small obsession with colored Sharpies

*11 weeks and 2 awards*

I'm finally doing another pregnancy/bump update (I know you're all so excited!  :P )  There hasn't been much change since my first update at 6 weeks, so that's why I haven't done one since.  I'm planning to do one every week from now on though, and hopefully my bump will grow more and more each week so that there's actually something for you all to see.  :)
  •  How far along?  11 weeks and 3 days
  • Total weight gain:  Not so sure.  At my very first prenatal appointment I was one weight, and then I went back 2 weeks later and I was up 3 lbs. already (Whoops!  Lay off the donuts, Mrs. B!)  But, then when I went to my new Dr., I was down 5 lbs from the second time I was weighed.  Sooo, I have no idea.  lol  I'm hoping I've gained no weight so far.  That's what I'm telling myself, at least.  ;)
  • How big is baby? Just over an inch and a half...about the size of a lime
  • Maternity clothes? Not yet.  My pants get pretty tight by the end of the day, though...especially after I eat a lot.
  • Stretch Marks? None yet!  *fingers crossed*
  • Sleep:  Pretty good.  I did have one night this past weekend when I got up 4 times to pee, though.  4 TIMES!!  I couldn't believe it.  And, it was the type of pee where my bladder hurt b/c I had to go so badly.  It was crazy!
  • Best moment this week? I'm thismuch closer to 2nd tri...woohoo!
  • Movement? None yet...I wish!
  • Food cravings:  Fruit and freeze pops/popsicles
  • Labor signs?  No, thankfully
  • Belly button in or out?  Still in
  • What I miss:  Not much right now
  • What I'm looking forward to:  Our first trimester screening/NT scan is this Friday.  I'm hoping our ultrasound tech will be nice enough to give us a little guess about what she thinks we may be having.  Or, if she doesn't want to guess, at least show us the area so Hubs and I can guess for ourselves.  We'll see!
  • Milestones:  Only another week and a half until 2nd trimester!
And here are my bump pics for the week.  They were taken on Saturday morning, so I was 11 weeks and 1 day.  Oh, and please ignore my creepy face/smile....I wasn't sure if I should smile or just look forward.  So, I came out like this.  Ha.

Now, on to the 2 awards that I received a little while back.  I'm so sorry I've been such a horrible blog friend and haven't posted about this yet!

The first one is from my friend Sam's blog Life is Beautiful.  She's such a sweetheart and is very open/honest...thanks, girl!  Definitely check her out!

The rules for receiving this award are:
1. Post about the award, thanking the person who gave it to you
2. Put the award on your blog
3. List three things you love about yourself.
4. Post a picture you love
5. Tag five people to pass the award onto.

Hmmm, 3 things I love about myself.  That's kind of a tough one.  lol
1.  I'm a really good listener.
2.  I love animals more than anything.  I'd do anything and everything to save every homeless/abused/neglected animal out there.
3.  Um, I have nice handwriting?  :P

Here's a picture I love:
All my babies sitting pretty  :)

The next award comes from a newer blog that I've been following, but it's now one of my favorites!  :)  Cait @ From Shopping Bags to Diaper Bags is such a great girl (her and her hubby are adorable!)  Go on over and say hello!

This award just comes with 2 questions:

1.  Why did you start blogging?  Honestly, I think it was b/c I was so obsessed into everyone else's blogs, that I thought it would be fun to try and start my own.  And, here I am...I love it!  :)

2.  What are your blogging rules?  Hmm, I don't think I really have any.  I just like to talk/blab/vent about anything I feel like, and be as open and honest with you all as possible.  No rules necessary.  ;)

Oh, and since I can never just pick certain blogs to give these awards to (seriously, I can't choose just 5!  lol), I'm giving them to you ALL!  Grab one or both of them, and pass them along to whoever you'd like.  Enjoy!

And that is all for today!  Whew, that was a long one!  I think I'm going to go take a nap now.  Teehee.
